January Birchbox Review

After my December Birbox absolutely knocking it out of the park, I was super excited to see what fun products January had in-store. Unfortunately, I was a little let down by this month’s selections, but nonetheless, everything I chose is listed below.

Here’s a breakdown of what I received in my box:

1. Verb Volume Dry Texture Spray (full size – $20 Value)
2. Kinship Self Smooth 10% Glycolic Resurfacing Serum (6ml deluxe sample)
3. Revive Bath and Shower Oil (9ml travel sample)
4. Lavanila The Healthy Deodorant Mini in Pure Vanilla (sizing unsure)
5. Number 4 Blow Dry Lotion (1 oz deluxe sample)
6. Too Cool for School All-In-One Egg Mellow Cream (15 ml deluxe sample)

Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the selections from this month. I remember taking my customization survey and thinking, “surely there’s more!?” It seemed like every option was a tiny sample, which was such a departure from the previous month!

However…I LOVE Verb and am super excited to try the Verb Volume Dry Texture Spray.

And realistically, the value of that one product pays for the cost of the box so if my girl math is correct, everything else was basically free.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t really lessen my disappointment with this particular box, but it’s something worth noting!

Overall, the January 2025 Birchbox was probably my least favorite that I’ve received, but as a whole, I genuinely really have fun with this beauty subscription, so here’s hoping for better luck next month!

December Birchbox Review

This is my third Birchbox this season and probably my favorite so far! Being able to select the products for your own box is always a plus, but I felt like every category had at least one product that I was genuinely super excited to own/try!

Here’s a breakdown of what I received in my box:

1. Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal + Tea Tree Cooling Hydration Scalp Mask (full size – $34 value)
2. Lartizy Cream Lipstick in Dusty Rose (full size – $20 value)
3. Floss Beauty Highlighter in Sunset (full size – $20 value)
4. Dryspun Texture Spray (.6oz deluxe sample size)
5. Benefit Roller Lash Super Curling & Lifting Mascara (deluxe sample size)
6. Korres Santorini Grape Poreless Skin Cream (20ml sample size)

After being slightly underwhelmed by the November box, I was super excited about the product options for the December birchbox!

My personal favorites include the Briogeo Scalp Revival and the Lartizy cream lipstick!

Briogeo is already a brand I love and use and although I had never heard of Laritzy, I’ve already worn the lipstick multiple times. It’s the perfect nude and is so soft and comfy, it wears more like a balm!

I was also super excited to try the Benefit Roller Lash mascara because everyone loves it, but spoiler alert: After trying it out a couple of times, I don’t get the hype.

But I genuinely don’t think there’s a product in this box that I won’t use.

I was probably the least excited by the Korres skin cream, but it’s still a product that I can definitely use!

Overall, I was super impressed by the usability and quality of the products in this box.

And when you think about it in terms of value, one full-size product covers the entire cost of the box and then everything else you get is an added bonus!

In my opinion, Birchboxes customization makes this beauty subscription box worth it. You can choose the products you want, skip the ones you don’t, and hopefully end up with a box you love!

My Winter Beachly Unboxing

Thoughts on the Winter Beachly Box

As I already mentioned, this is probably the best Beachly box I have ever received and I have been getting this box for YEARS! I love every single item included in my box and a big part of that is because I get to pick the items I receive! Box customization is truly such a game-changer.

My favorites: The pajamas and sweatshirt are hands-down, my absolutely favorite items in this box. Both are so soft, cozy, and I’ve already worn them MULTIPLE times.

I will say — the pajamas did shrink when I washed them so make sure to wash in cold water and HANG DRY. I dried on low and they still shrunk quite a bit.

Least favorites: I mean, if I absolutely had to choose something, I would say my least favorite items were the socks, mostly because I get really hot feet and so fuzzy socks aren’t usually my jam. BUT these ones were so cute and if you didn’t want them for yourself, they would make a great stocking stuffer!

Oveall, I was so incredibly happy with this box and absolutely loved the items I chose for myself. All of them will be getting use and I’m already so excited for my next one!

I’d give this Winter Beachly box a 9.5/10.

November Birchbox Review

One of the joys of this box is the ability to choose products that you’re genuinely curious to try out. Personally, I tend to gravitate toward makeup items and I love that I practically got a full face of makeup with this box.

Here’s a breakdown of what I received in my box:

2. Wander Beauty Upgraded Lashes Treatment Mascara (full size – $24 value)
3. Dr. Botanicals Regenerating Sleeping Mask (deluxe sample size)

6. Manna Kadar Mineral Powders Duo (deluxe sample size)

When I was going through and choosing the selections for my box, I was slightly underwhelmed by the number of samples that were included. Seeing them in person definitely helps, because almost all of the “samples” seem almost full-size to me!

My personal favorites include the GrandeBROW brow gel (which I know I’ll use everyday!), the Dr. Botanicals face mask, and the Sunday Riley Good Genes treatment. A full-size of Good Genes retails for $85 so I love that I can try it out before committing to that price!

After swatching, I am least excited about the mineral powder duo.

In the pan, they look so pretty, but they just don’t have much pigmentation and the bronzer is definitely a bit light for me. I think it will make a great eyeshadow base though!

When it comes to these types of boxes, it’s easy to accumulate things in a drawer and never use them, but I definitely love that the products I chose are things that I’ll be able to use in my everyday routine.

In my opinion, the customization makes this beauty subscription box worth it! You can choose the products you want, skip the ones you don’t, and hopefully end up with a box you love!

October Birchbox Review

This was my first Birchbox in probably 7-8 years, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of how much it had changed or not.

Back in the day, Birchbox had always been a fun way for me to discover new brands and try new products without a big price commitment. However, I found that many of the products were quite small, weren’t items I necessarily would use, and ultimately, it wasn’t worth it for me to continue.

So when I learned that their process now allows you to select the 4-6 items you receive in your box, I was super excited to give it another try!

Here’s a breakdown of what I received in my box:

1. Living Proof Full Volume & Root Lifting Spray (full size – $32 value)
2. Floss The Concierge Cheek & Lip Tint (full size – $22 value)
3. Kindr Beauty Eyeshadow Cream (sample size)

Overall, I found this box to be super fun to open and the ability to now choose your own products makes it super practical! I was able to pick products that I know I will use or was just super curious to try.

And when you look at cost vs value, you’re basically getting back your cost with just one full-size item and the rest is just added value. That’s a total win, if you ask me!

While there were a few sample-size products included, the pot of eyeshadow cream definitely seems like a full-size amount to me and I love that the hairspray size will be perfect for travel.

My Fall Beachly Unboxing

Thoughts on the Fall Beachly Box

As usual, the product quality is always a win and this box was no exception. While I didn’t necessarily get fall vibes from my items (I would have loved to see a cozy candle, an oversized long-tee, a coffee mug, etc.) I have to remember that as a Minnesotan, my “fall essentials” are going to look different than someone who lives coastal.

My favorites: I’ve literally been wearing the dainty bracelet since I got the box. I absolutely love it! I also plan to get lots of use out of the round beach towel and the toiletry bag. The toiletry bag looks pretty online, but I promise you, it’s even 10x prettier in person!

Least favorites: The quality of the sea glass garland is actually SO nice, but I’m not totally sure how to incorporate it into my home. And while the bikini bag is definitely practical, but the design isn’t really my vibe.

The items are fun, practical, and I can’t wait to put some of them to good use! While this wasn’t my favorite box ever, I still really enjoyed it! I’d give this Beachly Fall box a 7/10.

Thoughts on the 2024 Summer FabFitFun Box

My favorite time of every year is when FabFitFun opens the customization for subscribers. I LOVE shopping through my options to see what I want for my own box.

Usually, there are multiple items in each category that I have to debate between, but this season had some very strong stand-outs that didn’t have me considering anything other than the products I picked above.

That being said, I’m REALLY happy with the products I got in my 2024 Summer FabFitFun box. They are all practical items for everyday use that I can see myself using all Summer long.

My favorites? The sunscreen face mist is perfect for reapplying throughout the day, especially over makeup! I also looooove lip products so the lip tint from Thrive was a huge winner for me.

Biggest letdowns? The Vacation fragrance…isn’t my favorite. It smells a bit too old-lady for my liking. I also don’t love the body oil (this was a mystery item so I didn’t specifically select it) and while I’ll definitely try it, it’s not a product I would ever gravitate toward.

Overall, this box gets a 9/10 from me and I can’t wait to see what fall has in store!

Thoughts on the Summer Beachly Box

If I’m being honest, this is probably one of my absolute favorite boxes from Beachly, to-date! As an annual member, I got to select all of the items that came in my box and I was SO excited about every single one of them.

As always, the quality of the brands they work with never ceases to amaze me. And obviously, size is not an indicator of value, but I love that the products always FILL the box. Something about receiving a stuffed box just makes it infinitely more exciting to open!

My favorites? The waterproof tote bag is going to get SO much use and I love love love that it has a zipper closure and isn’t just an open-top bag. I’m also excited about the bamboo serving set. Not that I need another wooden tray, but can you ever have too many?

Biggest letdowns? The midi dress is definitely more of a swimsuit cover-up and that was a bit of a disappointment. The fabric is incredibly comfy and lightweight, but it’s pretty sheer and the armholes are super big and saggy. And if you get their boxes regularly, I feel like I’ve received the Coola sunscreen every summer. I mean, I’ll use it, but it would be fun to get something a bit different.

Overall, the product quality is unmatched and while I’ll use a majority of the items, not all of them quite met my expectations. I’d rate the Beachly Summer box an 8/10.

Alltrue Spring Welcome Box: What You Need To Know

The Alltrue Spring Welcome Box is a seasonally curated collection of employee and customer favorites. These products are from past seasons as well as the current season so you get a fun variety of items to choose from!

Valued at up to $340 for only $64.95, the Spring Welcome Box is fully customizable.

Annual members get to customize all six tiers, while Seasonal members get to customize tiers two and five.

PRO TIP: There is a difference between the Alltrue Spring Box and the Alltrue Spring Welcome Box. The Welcome Box basically comes into effect after all of the seasonal boxes have sold-out. So basically, if they start selling their Spring boxes in March, but you sign up in May, you’re most likely going to get a Welcome Box vs the Seasonal box. Make sense?

Alltrue Spring Welcome Box Review

This was my first Alltrue box since they came under new ownership so to say that I was excited, but also hesitant, would be a bit of an understatement.

If you don’t know, Alltrue closed its doors well over a year ago, but was recently repurchased and is now under new ownership.

I absolutely LOVED Alltrue back in the day. The quality and usability of its products made it a superior lifestyle subscription box (in my opinion) and one that I genuinely loved receiving.

Because of my past experience, I had REALLY high hopes for their comeback. And I have to say, I was just as impressed as ever.

The thing that I love so much about Alltrue is that they include high-quality products that are practical for everyday life.

For example, I’m going to get SO much use out of the cooking pan, the weekender bag, the mesh totes, and the baking sheets. Those are all great items that will easily incorporate into my everyday living.

I still use so many of the accessories and home goods that I received in boxes 3+ years ago.

And when it comes to getting the most bang for your buck? I truly believe that Alltrue takes the cake!

A lot of times, one item alone makes up for the cost of the ENTIRE box. The value is unmatched!

Lastly, I love the ability to customize and select items in your box.

And while customization is kind of becoming the new norm for subscription boxes, it truly makes the experience so much better when you can select items you know you’re going to love.

So do I think the Alltrue Spring Welcome Box is worth it? 100% yes.

While I did think there were some duds (I don’t know why people would want a fall scarf or autumn-scented candle in spring, but you do you, boo) you can just choose to NOT get those items!

But if you’re looking for a women’s lifestyle subscription box to invest it, I definitely would say that Alltrue should be it.
